$25k CHALLENGE

Help Us Reach our $25k Goal

Owl’s Hill Nature Sanctuary has been connecting people with nature for more than 30 years through hands-on nature-based programming, while protecting native wildlife and their habitats nestled among our 300 acres. Since our founding, we have gone through many changes and significant growth. In 2018, a generous donation of 177 acres from siblings Mary Ann and John Sugg more than doubled the size of our sanctuary. In 2020, we doubled our Day Pass visitors… and doubled them again in 2021. As we continue to grow, it is essential to plan for the future.

A comprehensive Campus Master Site Plan will guide our growth and resource stewardship for the coming decades. We estimate that it will cost approximately $50,000-$60,000 to contract with a landscape architect firm to develop a comprehensive plan, with input from key stakeholders, addresses our facilities, lands, and other resources.

The Andrea Waitt Carlton Family Foundation has generously committed $25,000 as a Challenge Grant to help raise the funds needed to hire a design team.

How can you help? A challenge grant means Owl's Hill will not receive the $25,000 grant UNTIL we have raised that same amount in gifts from individuals, foundations, corporations, and other organizations. Our goal is to raise the funds before December 31.

Your gift will have an immediate and lasting impact on Owl's Hill Nature Sanctuary, the wildlife that calls this place home, and the thousands of visitors seeking meaningful and memorable ways to connect with nature.
